The Invitations Within a Pure Prophetic Word
This time of year, many people are seeking God for clarity and direction about the new year. And rightly so. It’s always wise to seek Him. What a treasure it is to hear His voice and to be His friends. His Word and His Presence is where we are meant to live from. We will never graduate from the simplicity, beauty and power of abiding IN Christ.
As you seek the Lord, I encourage you to consider what progression the Lord may be inviting you into with the revelation you receive.
I don’t claim this as a comprehensive list or formula, but in my experience and all throughout scripture, I see a word from God inviting people into intimacy, intentionality, ongoing submission and embodiment.
Intimacy is where we don’t take what God says and run off to carry it out. We linger, we feast on the Word of God and resign ourselves to complete dependency upon Him as He shows us step by step how to walk forward.
Intentionality is how we purposely posture our hearts and lives in response to what He’s spoken. This is where the Lord helps us reorder our priorities and gives us wisdom to apply or take action on what He’s shown us.
Ongoing submission speaks to living yielded not only to His will, but also to His way. Jesus IS the way. When we’re surrendered to Jesus, we let go of controlling outcomes, pushing our own timing, or fitting His words into our preconceived boxes. We allow Him to challenge us and we trust and follow the Good Shepherd, above all into looking more and more like Him.
Embodiment is the fruit of living out this progression from the inside out. Holding fast to the Vine, embracing the process, consistently walking in His ways and ultimately bearing fruit. It’s when the word of God is no longer an idea or pep talk. We become living epistles of His heart. It looks different for each of us, but it pleases the heart of the Father because embodiment is always the outworking of transformation. What could be more satisfying than delighting the heart of God? “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to accomplish that work.” (Jesus in John 4:34)
